The overall cheapest SUV to insure is the Mazda CX-5 from the compact segment costing $1,158 per year. The cheapest midsize SUV to insure is the Honda Passport at an average of $1,610 per year.  For full-size models, the cheapest large SUV to insure is the Chevrolet Tahoe at $1,532 per year.
